SADÉ AWELE
Lead Vocals
Sadé Awele is a Nigerian-born artist who channels her Yoruba and Igbo heritage into her bold, innovative, Afro-R&B sounds. With strong influences from the iconic Stevie Wonder, Erykah Badu, Beyoncé, and Lauryn Hill, Awele plays with both the familiar and the experimental in revolutionizing the afrobeats and R&B genres, making her a unique rising star on the Canadian music scene.
KAITIE SLY
Bass and Vocals
Kaitie is a musician, sound artist, songwriter and educator. She is a founding member of Serengeti, in which she writes, produces and performs on bass and vocals. Kaitie also has her own original music project which has been active since 2014. Kaitie's music has been featured on Rolling Stone and in Stir Vancouver, among other press, and is currently working on her second solo EP with producer, Andy Schichter of Park Sound Studios. Sly continues to work regularly as a session musician, backing artists such as Rumour Mill, Anna Katarina, Blackbird Radio, Sade Awele, Peter Tam, Maddie Storvold, Pauline Edwards, and many more.
AMINE SAID
Guitarist
Hailing from Morocco, Amine unifies the masses with his electrified, funky global rhythms. He brings together the schools of Funk, Soul, Jazz and Afro-beat to the group, providing a unique sound that flows from a foundation of deep set grooves. Amine is also the lead guitarist in the renowned group, Coco Jafro, and plays with various Vancouver-based groups.
